Predictions and track record

What we expect next, why, and how often we have been right.

Every situation report makes a few forecasts for the next 24 to 72 hours. Each one here says what we expect, why we think it, how confident we are as a probability, and what would prove it wrong. When its deadline passes it is graded against the news and events reported in that window, and the reports the grade rests on are listed so you can check it yourself. Nothing is deleted, including the misses.

Predictions marked "cascade rule" come from a fixed rule, not from a model: when one thing happens (a big offshore earthquake, a disease in one country, a new war on a shipping route), the next step it often leads to is predicted with the odds of that rule's own record, and the rule grades it from the data. A rule that keeps missing loses weight by itself.

Track record

81 right and 28 wrong of the predictions graded so far, since 3 October 2026. 138 could not be settled either way by what was reported, and are not counted as right or wrong.

ConfidenceWe saidCame trueRightWrongUnsettledStill open
HIGHabout 80% 48% to 97% 433435
MEDIUMabout 55% 30% to 94% 3166510
LOWabout 30% 13% to 66% 719303

A confidence level is honest if "about 80%" comes true about 80% of the time. The "came true" column is how you check that. Where some predictions could not be settled either way, it gives a range: the low end counts every unsettled one as a miss, the high end counts every one as a hit. The truth is somewhere between, and we don't guess where. A wide range means a weak record at that level.

Why we think this: The Israeli airstrike on Bint Jbeil killed one person and marks the first operation in southern Lebanon in weeks, testing the durability of the ceasefire.

Wrong if: The strike is confirmed as an isolated incident targeting a low-level cell with no Hezbollah command structure involvement, leading to no retaliation.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 7 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC · deadline 8 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC

Why we think this: Recent coordinated attacks on Kyiv, Luhansk, and Crimea indicate a sustained campaign to overwhelm air defenses and degrade the power grid, with no signs of a pause in operations.

Wrong if: Russia shifts its military focus entirely to a new front or pauses strikes for diplomatic negotiations.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 6 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC · deadline 8 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC

Why we think this: Recent attacks on Kyiv region infrastructure and the ongoing attrition war indicate a sustained strategy to degrade Ukrainian power capabilities ahead of winter.

Wrong if: A substantive ceasefire agreement is announced by Trump and Putin within 48 hours that halts long-range strikes.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 6 Nov 2026, 16:03 UTC · deadline 8 Nov 2026, 16:03 UTC

Why we think this: The resumption of Israeli air strikes in these specific districts signals a shift from de-escalation to active kinetic engagement, likely triggering a cycle of retaliation.

Wrong if: No further Israeli airstrikes are reported in Nabatieh or Tyre within 48 hours.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Zhylyoi district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Makat district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; Wildfire (238 MW) — Mozambique; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Wildfire (222 MW) — Mozambique

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 5 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC · deadline 8 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC

Why we think this: Democrats are actively attempting to use the "power of the purse" to halt the conflict following the escalation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Wrong if: The resolution fails to reach the floor for a vote due to procedural hurdles or lack of majority support.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Wildfire (361 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (746 MW) — Tanzania; Wildfire (466 MW) — S. LOW confidence, about 30% · made 5 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC · deadline 8 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC

Why we think this: Recent reports confirm Ukraine is expanding its battlefield beyond the front lines with retaliatory strikes on Russian logistics.

Wrong if: Russian air defense systems successfully intercept all incoming long-range drones and missiles, preventing any confirmed impact on logistics infrastructure.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Wildfire (361 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (746 MW) — Tanzania; Wildfire (466 MW) — S. HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 7 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC

Why we think this: President Zelensky issued an explicit warning of a "mass attack" and air raid alerts are active across multiple fronts including the capital.

Wrong if: The "mass attack" warning was a false alarm or the strike is delayed beyond 48 hours due to logistical issues.

Hezbollah will fire a salvo of rockets into northern Israel within 48 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 7 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC

Why we think this: Israeli airstrikes have resumed in the Nabatieh and Tyre districts, breaking a period of relative quiet and triggering the expected tit-for-tat retaliation pattern.

Wrong if: Hezbollah refrains from retaliation to avoid a full-scale war or if the strikes are deemed too limited to warrant a response.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 7 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC

Why we think this: The US strike on Qeshm island is a direct kinetic engagement that Tehran is likely to view as a provocation requiring immediate retaliatory response to maintain deterrence.

Wrong if: Iran restricts its response to cyberattacks or diplomatic protests without kinetic military action.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); Wildfire (338 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (499 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (319 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (314 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (679 MW) — Australia

Hezbollah will fire rockets at northern Israel in response to Israeli airstrikes in Nabatieh and Tyre within 48 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 7 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC

Why we think this: The resumption of Israeli kinetic engagement in southern Lebanon historically triggers retaliatory rocket fire from Hezbollah to signal continued resistance and deter further incursions.

Wrong if: Hezbollah refrains from retaliation to avoid triggering a full-scale war or if Israeli strikes are deemed limited and non-escalatory by Hezbollah leadership.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); Wildfire (338 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (499 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (319 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (314 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (679 MW) — Australia

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 6 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC

Why we think this: The resumption of strikes in Nabatieh and Tyre districts signals the end of the previous lull and a shift toward broader kinetic engagement against Iran-backed militias.

Wrong if: The strikes remain limited to the immediate border zone (Nabatieh/Tyre) without expanding to the Bekaa Valley within 72 hours.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); Fire danger — Zhylyoi district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Makat district (Atyrau Region); M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Fire danger — Zhanakorgan district (Kyzylorda Region); Fire danger — Zhalagash district (Kyzylorda Region)

A major international mediator (e.g., Oman or Qatar) will announce a specific framework for de-escalation in the Strait of Hormuz within 72 hours.

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 6 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC

Why we think this: The granting of geopolitical exemptions to India, China, Qatar, and Iraq suggests active diplomatic channels are being used to manage the crisis.

Wrong if: No formal diplomatic framework or statement regarding the strait is published by major wire services within 72 hours.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); Fire danger — Zhylyoi district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Makat district (Atyrau Region); M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Fire danger — Zhanakorgan district (Kyzylorda Region); Fire danger — Zhalagash district (Kyzylorda Region)

Iran will issue a formal diplomatic warning to the United States or Israel regarding the safety of exempted nations (India, China, Qatar, Iraq) within 72 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 6 Nov 2026, 16:03 UTC · deadline 9 Nov 2026, 16:03 UTC

Why we think this: Senior Iranian lawmakers described the current standoff as "not sustainable," and Iran’s strategic exemption of these nations suggests targeted economic weaponization that requires explicit diplomatic management to prevent escalation.

Wrong if: No formal diplomatic warning or statement regarding the status of exempted nations is issued by Iranian officials within 72 hours.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (3 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Zhylyoi district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Makat district (Atyrau Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; Wildfire (238 MW) — Mozambique; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Wildfire (222 MW) — Mozambique

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 7 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC · deadline 10 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC

Why we think this: Iran has explicitly warned that missile responses to new attacks could extend to Europe, linking the regional conflict to broader geopolitical security.

Wrong if: The threat is dismissed as rhetorical and no official diplomatic or military response is recorded by major wire services.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 7 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC · deadline 10 Nov 2026, 00:34 UTC

Why we think this: Ukraine’s delegation led by Umerov is preparing for peace talks in Abu Dhabi, creating a diplomatic track that contrasts with the ongoing military aggression.

Wrong if: The talks collapse or are postponed due to the continued escalation of missile strikes on Kyiv.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); LLUVIAS Y TORMENTAS ELÉCTRICAS — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos +2 more — Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Guayas, El Oro; M 7.0 — Off the west Coast of Ogasawara Islands; M 6.9 — Adjacent Kamchatka Peninsula; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL; Flood Warning — Lake, Volusia, FL

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 7 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC · deadline 10 Nov 2026, 08:28 UTC

Why we think this: Ukraine has recently targeted the Saratov Oil Refinery and Oryol factory, indicating a strategic shift toward degrading Russian industrial and energy capabilities deep inside its borders.

Wrong if: Ukraine lacks the necessary long-range munitions or shifts its operational focus to defensive counter-offensives.

Made from: Strait of Hormuz closure; Russia-Ukraine War (4 incidents); Gaza War; Israel-Lebanon Conflict; Fire danger — Yrgyz district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Shalkar district (Aktobe Region); Fire danger — Alakol district (Jetısu oblysy); Wildfire (338 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (499 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (319 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (314 MW) — Australia; Wildfire (679 MW) — Australia

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 6 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC · deadline 7 Nov 2026, 08:41 UTC · graded 7 Nov 2026, 08:45 UTC

Why we thought this: The confirmed closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which handles 20% of global oil consumption, and the sinking of two tankers by mines create an immediate supply shock.

Wrong if: The closure is lifted or declared a false alarm by major wire services within 24 hours.

Grade: No stored headline or event in the window addresses it, so it cannot be judged either way.

correct · Russian forces will conduct a new missile or drone strike on Kyiv's energy infrastructure within 24 hours.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 5 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC · deadline 6 Nov 2026, 16:06 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 16:32 UTC

Why we thought this: Current power outages have already disrupted water supply across all districts of Kyiv, indicating a sustained strategy to degrade civilian resilience and grid capacity.

Wrong if: A formal, internationally recognized ceasefire is announced and verified by UN monitors before the deadline.

Grade: Multiple reports confirm Russian forces conducted drone strikes on Kyiv's energy infrastructure within the 24-hour window.

wrong · Iran will issue a specific, public list of conditions required for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz within 72 hours.

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 31 Oct 2026, 16:12 UTC · deadline 3 Nov 2026, 16:12 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: Tehran has explicitly stated it has set conditions for reopening the strait while ordering unrestricted military responses to aggression.

Wrong if: Iran maintains ambiguity or refuses to publicly codify the conditions, relying instead on implicit threats or back-channel negotiations.

Grade: The reports indicate that Iran relied on back-channel negotiations with mediators and made vague or conditional statements rather than issuing a specific, public list of conditions as required by the forecast.

wrong · European nations will announce a specific funding mechanism for the purchase of 500 Patriot missiles within 72 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 1 Nov 2026, 00:01 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 00:01 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: Ukraine has formally requested this funding, and the conflict's logistical threshold is straining international support mechanisms.

Wrong if: European leaders cite budgetary constraints or political hesitation to delay the commitment beyond 72 hours.

Grade: The reports indicate that the delivery of the 500 Patriot missiles is scheduled to span three years starting in 2030, which contradicts the forecast of a specific funding mechanism announcement within 72 hours.

wrong · Ukraine will announce a formal request or agreement for European funding to purchase 500 Patriot missile systems within 72 hours.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 1 Nov 2026, 08:09 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 08:09 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: President Zelensky specifically requested European funding for this package, signaling a strategic shift in air defense procurement.

Wrong if: European partners reject the funding request or the US intervenes to provide the systems directly without European co-funding.

Grade: Report 5 states that the US will deliver the 500 Patriot missiles directly over 3 years starting in 2030, which matches the falsifying condition of the US providing systems directly without European co-funding.

wrong · A major diplomatic breakthrough or ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine will be announced within 72 hours.

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 1 Nov 2026, 08:09 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 08:09 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: President Trump asserted that a peace deal is "getting closer," suggesting active high-level negotiations.

Wrong if: battlefield realities, such as the drone crash in Kyiv and ongoing strikes, continue to decouple diplomatic narratives from kinetic escalation.

Grade: The reports confirm that the war's longest ceasefire ended and was followed by massive kinetic escalation, including hundreds of drone strikes and significant casualties, which matches the specified falsifying condition.

unresolved · A Russian drone will violate the airspace of a NATO or EU member state within 72 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 1 Nov 2026, 16:09 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 16:09 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 1 Nov 2026, 16:09 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 16:09 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: The escalation in the Iran-US-Israel conflict and the link to Iran-backed proxies increase the risk of cross-border strikes.

Wrong if: Israeli military operations remain strictly contained to Gaza within 72 hours.

Grade: Report 1 confirms Israeli air strikes hit Lebanon's Bint Jbeil district within the 72-hour window, satisfying the condition that operations were not strictly contained to Gaza.

unresolved · U.S. Central Command will announce the deployment of additional naval assets to the Strait of Hormuz for mine clearance or escort operations within 48 hours.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 2 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: The IRGC Navy confirmed the destruction of two tankers by mines, creating an immediate operational threat to global energy flows that requires a direct U.S. military response to secure the waterway.

Wrong if: The U.S. opts for a purely diplomatic response without deploying additional naval combat or engineering assets to the strait within the timeframe.

Grade: The reports confirm US military strikes and Iranian mine-laying in the Strait of Hormuz, but they do not explicitly state that CENTCOM announced the deployment of additional naval assets specifically for mine clearance or escort operations.

correct · Ukrainian air defense systems will intercept at least 100 Russian drones or missiles in a single 24-hour period.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 2 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · deadline 5 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: The recent downing of 274 drones indicates a sustained, high-intensity attrition campaign by Russia that is unlikely to pause, and Ukrainian forces are actively prioritizing the defense of critical infrastructure.

Wrong if: Russian drone and missile launches drop below 100 in the next 24 hours, indicating a significant tactical pause or shift in strategy.

Grade: Report 4 confirms that Ukrainian air defense systems neutralized 139 drones and 8 missiles in a single attack, which exceeds the threshold of 100 intercepts.

unresolved · A new violation of Moldovan airspace by a Russian drone or missile will be reported by Moldovan authorities within 48 hours.

MEDIUM confidence, about 55% · made 2 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: Two separate airspace violations occurred during the last massive attack, demonstrating that Russian strike packages are not strictly geofenced to Ukrainian territory and that interception failures or intentional overflights are a recurring risk.

Wrong if: No new airspace violations in Moldova are confirmed by official sources within 48 hours.

Grade: The provided reports document attacks and incidents exclusively within Ukraine, with no mention of Moldovan airspace violations or official Moldovan confirmations.

wrong · Israel will launch a large-scale ground operation in a new sector of Gaza, resulting in a casualty count exceeding 50 in a single day.

LOW confidence, about 30% · made 2 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · deadline 5 Nov 2026, 00:43 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: While current strikes are low-level, the lack of a durable ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic failures create conditions for a sudden escalation to break stalemates or target specific high-value assets.

Wrong if: Casualty counts from Israeli strikes in Gaza remain under 50 per day for the next 72 hours.

Grade: The reports indicate that daily casualty counts in Gaza remained well under 50, with the highest cumulative figure being 19 over three days.

correct · The US State Department will issue a formal diplomatic response to Iran's Strait of Hormuz ultimatum within 48 hours.

HIGH confidence, about 80% · made 2 Nov 2026, 16:25 UTC · deadline 4 Nov 2026, 16:25 UTC · graded 6 Nov 2026, 08:32 UTC

Why we thought this: The ultimatum sets a specific two-day deadline for US compliance with unlisted demands, necessitating an official government stance.

Wrong if: The US government remains silent or delays response beyond the 48-hour window.

Grade: Report 9 confirms that Iran received a US reply to the Hormuz plan, indicating a diplomatic response was issued within the 48-hour window (by 2026-11-04 16:25Z).

Wrong if: Diplomatic de-escalation occurs or the US opts for a unilateral blockade rather than a convoy system.

Grade: The reports indicate the US is enforcing a unilateral blockade (Report 11) and Iran is demanding the US end this blockade as a condition for reopening the strait (Reports 2, 4, 7), which matches the specified falsifying condition of the US opting for a unilateral blockade rather than a convoy system.

unresolved · Ukrainian forces will conduct a long-range strike or special operation targeting Russian military assets in Kursk Oblast within 72 hours.

Why we thought this: The use of limpet mines against a vessel constitutes an active kinetic interdiction that typically triggers a proportional military response.

Wrong if: Diplomatic de-escalation occurs or the mine attack is attributed to a non-state actor without Iranian state confirmation.

Grade: The reports confirm Iranian military activity and a mine incident, but do not explicitly state that US CENTCOM conducted kinetic strikes on IRGC naval assets or coastal batteries within the specified 48-hour window.

Why we thought this: The simultaneous approval of the $2.1 billion sale and the escalation of Russian strikes on Kyiv and Dnipro infrastructure create urgent diplomatic pressure to clarify logistics.

Wrong if: The announcement is delayed beyond 48 hours due to internal bureaucratic review or lack of immediate transport capacity.

Grade: The reports indicate that the delivery of the 500 Patriot missiles will not begin before 2030 and that the production request requires further review, meaning no specific deployment timeline within 48 hours was announced.

unresolved · Israeli military operations will result in the death of at least 10 Palestinians in Nuseirat or Khan Younis within 24 hours.

Wrong if: A formal, enforced ceasefire is implemented that halts all kinetic operations.

Grade: The provided reports do not contain a statement from the Israeli Health Ministry regarding the daily death toll in Gaza, and the individual casualty reports do not confirm the specific aggregate figure required by the forecast.

How this works

Predictions are written by the language model that writes the situation report, from the events and wire reports it was given; each records the events it was made from. A prediction is recorded only if it states what would prove it wrong. When a report restates an open prediction it is counted once, not again. Grading is done by the same model after the deadline, against stored headlines and events from the prediction's window, and a right or wrong verdict counts only if it cites a report listed here. If nothing reported settles it, it is marked unsettled rather than guessed. These are forecasts, not warnings: in an emergency, follow your national agency.
